A Home in the Andean Foothills
Built by the family in 1963 and shaped by three generations of hunters since — ten private cabins with heated floors and their own fireplace, open fires in the great room, and Patagonian cooking at a long table.
The Hunts
A Short List, Hunted Properly
Other outfitters list nine species. We have spent fifty-eight seasons on one mountain: the red stag in the roar, and the only free-ranging Alpine ibex outside the Alps. Every animal is judged in the field by your guide, and nothing is taken to fill a list.

Trout Water, and a Few Species That Come and Go
Fly fishing for trout
San Martín de los Andes is some of the finest trout country in the world, and the water starts inside our own boundary. For bigger days we fish in partnership with PRG, forty minutes from the lodge. It is the reason a wife, a son or a friend can come along and have a week of their own while you are on the mountain.
European wild boar & European mouflon
Both are here, and both are hunted when the season warrants it. Numbers move from year to year, so we do not sell them as a certainty — ask when you enquire and we will tell you honestly what the ground is holding for your dates.
Père David's deer
A small herd of a species extinct in the wild in its native China lives on the meadows here. Only a limited number of mature stags are available in any year, so it is arranged case by case rather than sold as a package — ask when you enquire.

Red stag
110 – 220 yards
Most shots are taken inside 220 yards, on foot, into the wind, with the roar telling you the stag is committed.
Alpine ibex
165 – 275 yards
Opportunities usually fall in this window, but the mountain sets the terms — come prepared and practised out to 325 yards.
Hunters who put in the five days and take the animal their guide judges for them go home with a trophy — that has been true here for decades. Our guests experience 100% success year after year.
The Hunt, Defined
Five Hunting Days. One Guide. Nothing Improvised.
The same week we have run since 1966, written out plainly so you can put it beside anyone else's. Rates on request — species, dates and party size decide them.
Day 0
Arrival, rifle test, afternoon hunt
You are met at San Martín de los Andes (CPC) — an international airport that also receives private and chartered aircraft. Roughly an hour to the ranch, rifles checked and zeroed on the range, then straight out for an afternoon hunt before dinner at the fire.
Days 1 – 4
Full hunting days
Out before first light with your guide, one hunter to one guide. Glassing from the ridges, spot-and-stalk on foot, back to the lodge for lunch and a rest when the country goes quiet, out again until last light. Non-hunting partners fish, walk the valley, or stay by the fire.
Day 5
Morning hunt and departure
A last morning in the field, then back for breakfast. Trophies caped, salted and handed to our Export Agent for dip, pack and shipment.

- 5 hunting days (Day 0 arrival, rifle test and afternoon hunt; Day 5 morning hunt and departure)
- 1×1 guiding — one hunter, one English-speaking guide
- Round-trip transfers from San Martín de los Andes (CPC)
- Full board: all meals, Argentine wine and open bar at the lodge
- A private cabin per hunter — heated floors, own fireplace, daily service
- Field preparation of trophies: caping, salting, delivery to the Export Agent
- 4×4 field transport and laundry

- Hunting licence and tags
- Taxidermy work
- Trophy dip, pack and international shipment
- Gratuities for guides and lodge staff
- International and domestic airfare, and any hotel nights outside the hunt
- Rifle permit and personal insurance
- Rifle rental — Blaser, Weatherby and Remington rifles are available on request, but not included in the hunt rate
Terms & Deposits
- 50% deposit confirms your dates; the balance is due 60 days before arrival.
- Cancel more than 180 days out and your deposit transfers to a future season.
- Dates are transferable — send another hunter in your place at no penalty.
- Trip cancellation insurance is strongly suggested.
Alpine ibex is a five-day hunt as well — the mountain does not negotiate, and shorter bookings are not accepted.

March 2027 roar dates — 4 rifles per week, 2 weeks remaining.
The red stag roar sells out every season. Once these weeks are booked, the next opening is March 2028.
